Marhaba — welcome

The authenticity of Moroccan cuisine, in the heart of the Medina

Just a few steps from the famous Medersa Ben Youssef, behind a curtain of bougainvillea and a pair of teal-green doors, Bigua Café & Restaurant invites you to discover authentic Moroccan cuisine in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our menu honours the traditional dishes our grandmothers and mothers prepared with passion — recipes passed down from generation to generation, fresh ingredients, and flavours that taste unmistakably of Morocco. And to please every palate, the menu also includes a carefully chosen selection of international specialities.

Come for breakfast, lunch in the salon, or evening tea on the rooftop terrace.

Kind words

What travellers say

“The kind of place you hope to stumble on in the Medina and rarely do. The chicken tagine tasted like real home cooking — rich, patient and generous.”

Sarah M. · London, UK

“As a coeliac, Morocco felt risky until we ate here. They handed me a real gluten-free menu, took my allergy seriously, and explained every dish.”

Amélie R. · Lyon, France

“Rooftop mint tea at sunset after visiting the Medersa — one of the best moments of our whole trip. You are welcomed like a returning cousin.”

James & Dana T. · Toronto, Canada
